This weekend 3 lucky young Juniors from the 2007 Australian Motorcycle News MRRDA National Road race series got a taste of Phillip Island with a big crowd and the international press in attendance.

Paul Edwards, Chairman of the MRRDA – “Late on Wednesday 28th February we received an invitation from Honda and Phillip Island Operations that ended up with 3 young riders getting an awesome opportunity. 14 years old James Mutton and his Dad hot footed it down from Queensland on a 20 hour drive. Andrew Corish was on the road from Sydney with his two uncles while Melbourne Local Christian Dumaraos and his parents had a relatively short drive on Saturday morning. All this for a parade lap on their Honda CBR150's both Saturday and Sunday. In reality though it was more than just a parade lap. These guys were seen by the World Superbike paddock and the international press. We sincerely hope that these three names will be ones that one day everybody will be going to see as the main event. Who knows? I know that I'm extremely jealous. Imagine at the age of 14 being offered the opportunity to ride one of the world's best tracks at an event like that!”

These three junior riders will be joining another 20 junior riders in the 5 round MA sanctioned national series that sees them start at Oran Park at the end of March and via rounds at Winton, QLD Raceway and Wakefield Park, will finish the season at Phillip Island in late October. The winner of the series being whisked over to Europe with a guardian for a shot in the Red Bull Rookies cup trials, courtesy of Red Bull.
