Formula 400 05/10/2008 - NSW take back the trophy
For the second time NSW have taken the State of Origin trophy back form Victoria. With the new points format seeing the 1st place rider take out 50 points instead of 30, the gap at the end of the year was more than just a couple of points as we have seen in previous years. The increase in points was to accomodate the option of splitting the grids by qualifying times. With Steve Tozer from Victoria wining just about every race he entered, it came down to NSW filling out the middle order placing sto secure the win. In 2008, the NSW "Blues" took the early lead at Oran Park and never looked back. The big question is can NSW hold on ot the trophy for 2009 and be the first back to back winners?
