Classes For 2009 we are going to open the doors a bit more to enable us to do more for the Junior development program. We are looking at the Nipper class as there seems to be a big push for this and if it is going to happen, we'd like to be able to ensure that it does so in a controlled and responsible manner. We are also opening the doors for the Junior 2 stroke class. This will be run completely seperately to the 4 stroke Juniors as the 2 bikes are simply too far apart in performance to run together. With the 4 strokes we are looking to incorporate the new Yamaha offering. It is important however that the bikes in each class have parity so it is the riders skill that wins out, not the bike itself or the parents wallet. The 125GP and 250GP Mono's are back and unchanged. This is the next logical step for the Juniors when they turn 14 or 15, so it is important that we keep working with this class to ensure rider development. The good old 400's are back with updated rules and as always, that State of Origin passion. New for 2009 is the 600 Superstock class, which we will age limit to 21 and grade limit to D,C and B grades. We are aware of a number of riders who have progressed quickly from the Junior ranks having first ridden with us at 15 yrs old. It is important that we give these riders a place to continue to develop in an appropriate environment. |
