About the MRRDA
The Motorcycle Road Race Development Association was originally put together to provide a vehicle to provide invoices and payments to sponsors and Suppliers of the Formula 400 Tri-State series in 2006. However as plans progessed for 2007, we started to look beyond the 400 class to see if we could help other areas of Road Racing. It soon became clear that the association could go beyond its original design and be the governing body for a series with aims to help develop the smaller capacity classes and in particular Junior road racing.
In 2007 the MRRDA together with St George Motorcycle Club in NSW, Hartwell Motorcycle Club in Victoria and Motorcycle Sportsmen Motorcycle Club in Queensland will host a 5 round series. The classes will be Junior, 125GP, 250GP, 250 Production and Formula 400. The series wil go beyond pure race meetings, extending to a number of seminars held in NSW, QLD and VIC covering the topics of media awareness and Sponsorship. In doing so we hope to be able to assist the series participants to be able to use the media to their advantage and be better equiped to go and get personal sponsors.
The MRRDA is a non profit organisation. All monies raised through Sponsorship or any other means will be put straight back into the race series and associated seminars and training. The assocaition will be run by a committee made up of a representative from each of the 3 clubs and each of the 4 classes. The committee will be completed by a Chairman and a Treasurer/Secretary. This 9 person committee will be respsonsible for all actions of the MRRDA with the driving focus being the development of motorcycle road racing and young riders in Australia.
